1/23/2024 7:14 PM

When is Ramadan 2024 / 1445? As we begin the new year, many will start thinking about the holy month of Ramadan.

The ninth and holiest month in the Islamic Hijri calendar begins when the Ramadan crescent is sighted.

A time for us to do more Ibadat, give Sadaqah and seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT).

It's the month the Quran was revealed to the Prophet (PBUH).

A month where the gates of heaven are open, and the gates of hell are locked.

Ramadan is expected to start on 11 March until 9 April, with Eid expected to fall on 10 April. These are provisional dates, with the exact dates confirmed with the sighting of the moon.

Those key Ramadan dates* again:

‍*Dates are subject to the sighting of the moon

"The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Quran, guidance for the people and clear proof of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days." Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful." Surah Baqarah, Ayah 185
