Israel launched its largest assault in decades in the occupied West Bank as it continues to escalate in its war on Palestine.
Since October 2023, Israel has conducted near-daily arrests and raids in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem alongside the genocide it is committing in Gaza.
The current assault involved extensive military action across several Palestinian cities and refugee camps in the West Bank. Israeli forces used bulldozers to destroy critical infrastructure, disrupting communications and resources.
Drone strikes targeted Jenin, Tulkarm, and Tubas, while troops opened fire on Palestinians. At least 20 Palestinians have been killed, according to Wafa news agency.
The situation was further inflamed by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz’s controversial statement calling for the “temporary evacuation of Palestinian civilians” from the West Bank.
It drew sharp criticism, including from EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, who accused Katz of seeking to “displace people from the West Bank.”
Much of Tulkarem has lost water access due to the Israeli military assault, exacerbating the humanitarian situation.
