It has been one year since Israel’s genocide in Gaza started.

Approximately one in 55 Palestinians in Gaza has been killed. Pretty much all of the population is internally displaced. And Israel’s ongoing blockade has led to severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine.

Below are some key figures highlighting Israel’s genocide in numbers. 

Gaza genocide in numbers

Nearly 42,000 Palestinians have been killed in the last year. 

A study in the Lancet medical journal suggests the death toll could be much higher and reach hundreds of thousands.

70% of the victims are women and children

The death toll includes nearly 17,000 children and over 11,000 women.

At least 10,000 people are feared to be buried under the rubble in Gaza,

Over 10,000 missing with a further 100,000 injured

An astonishing 90% of Gaza’s population of 2.1m has been internally displaced and squeezed into ‘safe zones’, which consists of just 11% of the territory in Gaza.

Around 30,000 people are packed in every square kilometre in Gaza. Before the war, it was only 1,200 per km.

19 hospitals destroyed, with the remaining 17 partially functioning. 

12,000 patients urgently need care; many with severe burns and amputations with limited access to lifesaving medical care. 

1m tonnes of aid entered Gaza, 70% of it food. Israeli blockades strand an additional 100,000 tonnes of food outside.
