Quran is derived from the Arabic word ‘qara’, which usually means ‘to read’ or ‘to recite.’

“So, the word Quran, it means ‘the thing that is recited,’ says Sheikh Brown.

“It’s important for us to understand that it’s something that has to be recited by us. It’s not something that can be left, like a book on a shelf and be neglected. It demands to be recited.”
