WATCH: Assisted dying bill — Dying in dignity or compromising religious and ethical boundaries?

On Friday, MPs will vote on a controversial bill that would allow some people in England and Wales to choose when to die.

If it becomes law, patients diagnosed with terminal illnesses and given six months to live will gain the legal right to die at the time of their choosing.

Supporters see it as a compassionate option for those suffering, but critics raise concerns about potential coercion, as well as the obvious religious/ethical implications. In Islam, suicide is a sin.

Islam Channel recently hosted a debate exploring these complex perspectives — watch it below.
