Israel’s deliberate ‘double-tap’ strike on Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza recently killed at least 20 people, among them reporters, medics, and bystanders who had rushed to aid the wounded.
The dead included five journalists from international media organisations such as the Associated Press, Reuters, Al Jazeera, and Middle East Eye.
The strike came amid what press freedom groups describe as the deadliest conflict for journalists ever recorded, with nearly 200 reporters killed by Israel in Gaza since the attacks started.
The latest episode of Analysis on Islam Channel saw journalist and political commentator Peter Oborne and Middle East Eye’s Head of News Daniel Hilton discuss Israel’s escalating targeting of the press in Gaza and the reasons behind the international community’s slow response.
