Islam Channel recently interviewed London Mayor Sadiq Khan about the impacts of the recent far-right riots on the Muslim community.
Khan addressed the growing concerns within the Muslim population, noting that many, especially women and children, have expressed fears for their personal safety since the unrest began.
The Mayor spoke about the roundtable discussion he held at Al Manaar, The Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre, in west London. The meeting brought together mosque leaders, police officers and home office representatives to find out what practical help can be provided to the Muslim community.
Khan said: “What the far-right does is to blame the other… the other could be a Muslim, an asylum seeker, an immigrant. We’ve got to show solidarity with the other.”
