- Friday 8 July – Day of Arafat 2022/1443
- Saturday 9 July – Eid al-Adha 2022/1443
- 10, 11, 12 July – The days of tashreeq
Pilgrims arriving in Saudi
Pilgrims have already started to arrive in Saudi Arabia for Hajj. Many choose to do umrah and visit Madinah before they formally begin the main pilgrimage.
Saudi Arabia recently opened an online portal for potential pilgrims from Europe, America and Australia to register their interest to perform the Hajj. Once registered, the authorities will decide who to allocate visas to.
The move signalled a return to some sort of normality with Saudi allowing a million people to perform pilgrimage this year. In the past two years, foreign pilgrims were not able to perform Hajj due to pandemic restrictions.
When the Covid-19 pandemic started two years ago, Saudi closed its borders and Hajj was restricted to 1,000 domestic pilgrims. Last year, numbers were still limited to 60,000.
