Watch: When is Ashura and what is its significance?

The Day of Ashura falls on Friday, 28 July 2023, the tenth day of Muharram, but what is the day’s significance in Islam?

It’s recommended that we fast on the day of Ashura as we get the reward of having an entire year’s sins forgiven.

“The best fast after the month of Ramadan is fasting in the month of Allah, Al-Muharram” Sahih Muslim.
