What are the key Islamic calendar dates for 2026 (Hijri 1447–1448)?

With 2026 fast approaching, many people will begin looking ahead to the key dates in the Islamic (Hijri) calendar.

So when are Ramadan, Eid and Hajj expected to fall?

Ramadan is anticipated to begin in February, with Hajj taking place towards the end of May.

Eid al-Fitr is expected to fall on 21 March 2026, while Eid al-Adha is predicted to occur on 27 May 2026.

As always, these dates are not fixed. The Islamic lunar calendar depends on the sighting of the moon to determine the start of each new month.

While we can estimate when major religious observances are most likely to occur, it’s always best to confirm the exact dates closer to the time.
