What are the important Islamic dates for 2022?

The new year is in full swing and that means everyone is already thinking about the key dates in the Islamic Hijri calendar.

In Gregorian money, the year is 2022 but the Hijiri year is 1443 / 1444. But when will the marquee events like Ramadan, Eid and Hajj fall in the next 12 months?

Naturally, we can’t be prescriptive about the dates as the Islamic calendar is based on 12 lunar months, which is based on the sighting of the moon.

Islamic Calendar 2022 – Hijri Calendar 1443 / 1444 dates

Isra Wal Miraj — 28 February 2022
Ramadan — 2 April 2022 to 1 May 2022
Last ten nights of Ramadan (includes Laylat al-Qadr) — 21 April to 30 April 2022
Eid al-Fitr — 2 May 2022
Hajj — 7 July 2022 to 12 July 2022
Day of Arafah — 8 July 2022
Eid al-Adha — 9 July 2022
Islamic New Year (first day of Muharram, the start of 1444) — 30 July 2022

Note all the above dates are subject to the sighting of the moon.
