More than 1.7 million Muslims performed Hajj this year as Saudi Arabia marked the successful conclusion of the 1447 AH pilgrimage season.

According to the Saudi General Authority for Statistics, a total of 1,707,301 pilgrims participated in this year’s Hajj. International pilgrims accounted for 1,546,655 arrivals, with a further 160,646 pilgrims citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia.

Over the course of the pilgrimage, worshippers completed the key rites of Hajj, including standing on the plains of Arafat, spending the night in Muzdalifah, and performing the symbolic stoning of the pillars in Mina.

Saudi authorities said extensive planning and coordination across government agencies ensured the safety and security of pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health, together with the World Health Organisation (WHO), confirmed the pilgrimage concluded without any confirmed or suspected outbreaks of epidemic diseases, despite ongoing global public health challenges.

Healthcare services played a vital role during the season, with more than 2.5 million medical services provided to pilgrims. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), healthcare teams also carried out 410 complex surgical procedures, including 33 open-heart operations.
